Automatic Tennis Ball Launcher V2

Summer 2026
  • Designed and built battery-powered dual-flywheel launcher with programmable launch angle, topspin/backspin control, and verified 60-100 ft range
  • Modeled in SolidWorks: aluminum extrusion frame, 3D-printed clamped wheel hubs, and linkage translating actuator travel into launch-angle tilt
  • Designed KiCad schematic; 12V LiFePO4 with fused distribution, motor drivers, and live battery monitoring
  • Developed ESP32 firmware (C++) with BLE-controlled phone app for motor control, angle targeting, auto-sweep, and limit-switch homing

Arcade Basketball Game

Fall 2023
  • Developed and showcased a functional arcade basketball game, managing a budget ($200) and deadlines
  • Designed the backboard and various obstacles in AutoCAD and manufactured them using laser cutting

Automatic Tennis Ball Launcher V1

  • Fully designed and manufactured an automatic tennis ball launcher, adhering to a strict budget of $300, incorporating multiple mechanical systems for feeding, launching, and transportation
  • Engineered and fabricated custom components, including ball guiding ramps and plates, using AutoCAD and Fusion 360 for design, and laser cutting and 3D printing for manufacturing
  • Assembled a ball feeding and launching system on a precision-cut wooden frame and integrated mechanical fixtures and adjustable speed controllers to propel tennis balls up to 50 feet with variable spin and speed

  • Developed a fluid pump stand through successive rounds of 3D-printed prototypes; the final design was manufactured out of house in 316 stainless steel and now ships to customers as a production accessory
  • Authored an illustrated assembly manual shipped with the separator cart, enabling customers to assemble it without engineering support
  • Modeled exploded-view drawings with sourced BOMs for cable assemblies and accessory kits, letting engineers reorder components directly and speeding packing and procurement
  • Designed a test panel integrating four pumps in parallel with tube fittings, check valves, and a flow meter to validate our separator at its 3000 mL/min maximum rated flow rate
